The Wii U games list is about to see a new release of Virtual Console titles this week, something that Nintendo Switch owners are still waiting to hear more about.
A Virtual Console release to help bolster the Nintendo Switch games list is one of the most anticipated new features being planned for the console. Currently, we know that a new Virtual Console feature will be launched on the Nintendo Switch and is rumoured to include GameCube games.
The launch of VC would provide a huge boost for the Nintendo Switch games list, which is currently subsisting on Zelda Breath of the Wild and some other more recent eShop releases. However, Nintendo have yet to confirm just when the Virtual Console feature will be released and what it will focus on first.
Nintendo renewed a trademark for horror game Eternal Darkness, which suggests that the rumours of Gamecube Virtual Console support could be true. There were also rumours that it was going to happen sooner rather than later, following an ad that played at a recent Super Smash Bros tournament.
Fans who tuned in to the CEO Dreamland stream thought they’d witnessed the reveal for Super Smash Bros Melee on the Nintendo Switch Virtual Console.
Unfortunately, however, the video was a hoax, and was actually an advert to tell fans that a fighting game called Brawlhalla would appear at the Shine 2017 event in August. The hoax just underlines fans anticipation for the new Virtual Console announcement, which may not come until the summer.
Perhaps Nintendo are saving it as part of their big E3 showcase, which will likely outline a lot new titles coming to the console in the near future. For anyone interested in the next Wii U games releasing this week. both Rayman Advance and Rayman 3 are set to launch today.
Rayman Advance: “In Rayman’s world, nature and people live together in peace. But one day, the evil Mister Dark steals the Great Protoon that provides energy and balance in the world.
“Betilla tried to stop him, but she wasn’t strong enough. Now strange new creatures appear and capture every Electoon they can find! They definitely need a hero… Rayman to the rescue!”
Rayman 3: “When Globox, Rayman’s best friend, inadvertently swallows a dreadful black Lum, it isn’t the end of the world – but it could be!
“To prevent a full-scale invasion of malicious, ill-mannered hordes there is only one solution: Rayman must get someone to treat his burdensome pal.” April also saw the release of the brilliant Advance title, which was released as a VC game on April 3.
“Orange Star’s commanding officer has been accused of attacking other countries, causing war to ensue. The battle lines have been drawn, and an elite group of sly strategists are massing troops at the borders of your homeland.
“In the face of invasion, you have been entrusted to play as tactical adviser for the Orange Star Army. Command 18 different types of ground, air and naval units if you hope to survive the coming wars. “Take caution of the terrain and weather as you lead your forces in 114 maps of turn-based warfare.” Source: express
