A leaked image has surfaced of what is rumored to be HTC’s upcoming U device, also known as the HTC Ocean. The phone is shown off in black and you can see it from the front as well as the rear, displaying both a physical home button that is thought to also house the fingerprint sensor and the rear-facing camera with the LED flash module.

This appears to be the first live image of the HTC U that shows what is likely the final design, though it was initially thought to be seen in red earlier this month in a render, but there are clear differences in that particular device and the one in the image above, like the placement of the flash and of course the home button.

The design of the phone in today’s leaked image looks quite similar to the design in the leaked documents of the device that we received earlier this month that contained the specs for the HTC U, home button and all, but the device was only displayed from the front in those documents.

Judging from the image the device will have some pretty minimal bezels on both the sides, but slightly more noticeable bezels on the top and the bottom. HTC also looks to be using a glass back for the HTC U which means the phone will likely be a magnet for fingerprints, but it should ultimately have a nice premium look because of it.

As the HTC U is supposed to be HTC’s next flagship device which follows in the footsteps of the HTC 10, the specs are to be pretty high-end.

The HTC U will reportedly come with a 5.5-inch display with Quad HD resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, a 3,000mAh battery, 64GB and 128GB storage size options, and 4GB and 6GB of RAM with 4GB coming on the 64GB model and 6GB said to be for the 128GB model.

The device is also going to be using Gorilla Glass 5 to protect the display, and HTC will be using Android 7.1 Nougat for the software while reportedly using Sense 9 as their latest version of the user interface. Source: androidheadlines.com
